Ratcliffe Not Keen on Rashford Return
Marcus Rashford’s future at Manchester United looks increasingly uncertain—and it appears Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already made up his mind.
The United co-owner is reportedly reluctant to welcome Rashford back to Old Trafford, with no plans in place to reintegrate the forward into the squad next season.
Barcelona Future Still Up in the Air
Currently on loan at FC Barcelona, Rashford has a £26 million buy option attached to his deal. While the Spanish giants are said to prefer extending his loan, United are not interested in renegotiating and are pointing to the existing agreement.
Frozen Out at Old Trafford
Rashford hasn’t featured for United since December 2024 and has already seen his iconic No.10 shirt handed to Matheus Cunha.
Under former boss Ruben Amorim, his situation deteriorated further, with the manager publicly questioning his commitment.
The England international also spent time away from the first team before securing his move to Barcelona.
Impressing in Spain — But Is It Enough?
Despite the uncertainty, Rashford has rediscovered form in Spain—registering 12 goals and 13 assists this season as Barcelona push for the title ahead of Real Madrid.
The forward has even admitted he would love to stay permanently:
“I’m enjoying this club… for any footballer, Barcelona is special. It would be an honour.”
What Happens Next?
With United unwilling to bring him back and Barcelona yet to fully commit, Rashford’s future hangs in the balance.
One thing is clear—his time at Old Trafford looks all but over.
