In a shock announcement that has sent ripples through the world of professional darts, former World Champion Gerwyn Price has declared an immediate and permanent retirement from the sport, citing a devastating personal health battle.
The 39-year-old Welshman, known for his fierce competitiveness and explosive walk-ons, broke down in tears during a hastily called press conference on Friday, revealing that he can no longer physically compete at the elite level due to a chronic nerve condition in his throwing arm.
“This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to say,” Price said, his voice trembling. “Darts is my life. But I’ve been hiding the truth for months. The pain isn’t just discomfort anymore—it’s a thief.
