In a dramatic development that has shaken the professional golf world, Gaurika Bishnoi, a prominent Indian amateur golfer and entrepreneur, has filed for divorce from her husband, PGA Tour star Aaron Rai. The filing comes just hours after an explicit video allegedly featuring Rai and social media influencer Paige Spiranac was leaked online.
The video, which began circulating on unverified social media accounts late Wednesday night, purportedly shows Rai and Spiranac in a private setting. Neither Rai nor Spiranac has confirmed the authenticity of the footage, but the leak has already triggered a firestorm of reactions across the golf community.
Bishnoi, 28, who married the English golfer in a private ceremony in Jaipur in December 2023, released a brief statement through her legal team in Mumbai:
“In light of recent events and the utter breach of trust, Gaurika Bishnoi has initiated divorce proceedings. She requests privacy for herself and her family during this difficult time. No further comments will be made.”
Aaron Rai, 31, known for his meticulous routines and double-glove approach on the course, has yet to publicly address the video. His management team issued a short note stating that Rai is “aware of the matter” and is “consulting with legal and PR advisors.”
Paige Spiranac, 33, who has built a massive following as a golf influencer and podcast host, responded via a post on X (formerly Twitter):
“A private video has been stolen and shared without my consent. I am working with authorities to find those responsible. Please respect my privacy. I will not be commenting further.”
The scandal has already affected sponsorship discussions. A title sponsor for Rai’s next scheduled event is reportedly “reviewing its partnership,” while one of Spiranac’s long-time brand deals has been “paused pending investigation,” according to industry sources.
Friends of Bishnoi say she is “devastated” and was completely blindsided by the leak. “She built her life around supporting Aaron’s career,” one source close to the family said. “This isn’t just about a video—it’s about a betrayal of everything she believed in.”
The PGA Tour has not issued an official statement, though officials are said to be “monitoring the situation closely.”
Neither Rai nor Spiranac has filed any police complaint regarding the leak as of press time. Legal experts note that if the video is proven to have been obtained illegally, criminal charges could follow.
For now, the golf world waits—while three careers hang in the balance.
