Stockport County-linked Liam Gordon has signed for Motherwell, as announced by their official club website.
Stockport County were said to be interested in a move for the defender, according to a report by The Courier. His contract at St Johnstone expires this summer and he became available for free.
Gordon, 28, has been on the books of the Saints since 2015 and was their captain. He made exactly 200 appearances for them, chipping in with four goals and two assists.
He has now moved to Fir Park for a new challenge and has told Motherwell’s website: “It’s great to be here. I know a lot of the boys and have played against them so many times. I just know this is a good club and a good place to be.
“There have been a lot of conversations between the manager (Stuart Kettlewell) and myself. The project and ambition are clear to see and I’m glad I can be a part of that.”
