EFL Confirms Protocol For Broadcast Reading FC Matches

The English Football League have confirmed that supporters will receive five months’ notice for televised matches this season- significantly up from the average of just five weeks last season.

Signed a record deal with Sky Sports over the summer, with over 1,000 matches every season broadcast live – four times as many matches as now and all 72 teams featured over 20 times a season.

All fixtures on the opening day of the season will be available to stream, with Reading’s trip to Birmingham City selected from priority broadcast on Sky Sports Main Event.

Within seven days of today’s EFL Fixture Release, all matches selected for broadcast for the period to the end of September will be announced, and before a ball is kicked off the 2024/25 season, all TV selections will be confirmed for the period up to the FA Cup third round in early January.

Over WAt weekends when all divisions are scheduled to play, 10 regular games across the three divisions will be broadcast, including seven games at 1212.30 p.m. on a Saturday.

This will include up to five Championship matches and up to five matches across League One and League Two.
