Petit Blasts Mbappé After Real Madrid’s UCL Collapse
Emmanuel Petit has launched a brutal attack on Kylian Mbappé, accusing him of bringing “selfishness” into the Real Madrid dressing room after their dramatic UEFA Champions League exit to Bayern Munich.
The former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder didn’t hold back while speaking on French outlet RMC, tearing into Mbappé following Madrid’s quarter-final defeat in Munich.
Late Drama, Red Card Chaos, and Total Collapse
Real Madrid crashed out 6-4 on aggregate after a wild second leg at the Allianz Arena, where two late goals sealed their fate after Eduardo Camavinga saw red.
The result marked a worrying trend—four poor performances in a row since Mbappé returned to the starting XI after a knee issue.
Ironically, during his absence, Madrid were flying—beating Manchester City home and away in Europe and seeing off Atlético Madrid in La Liga.

“Mbappé Brought Selfishness” — Petit’s Explosive Claim
Petit didn’t pin everything on Mbappé—but his words were still explosive:
“It’s not all on Mbappé… but his presence has brought selfishness into that dressing room. It’s a disaster.”
He added that the timing couldn’t be worse for his fellow Frenchman, pointing to how Paris Saint-Germain have thrived as a united team in contrast.
“Look at PSG—they’re playing as one, like fingers on the same hand. That unity is what Real are missing.”
Not the First Time Petit Has Taken Aim
This isn’t new territory. Petit has previously labelled Mbappé an attention-seeker and even questioned his credentials as captain of the French national team after their Euro 2024 disappointment.
Camavinga Still Takes the Biggest Blame
Despite his criticism of Mbappé, Petit admitted the decisive moment came from Camavinga’s costly mistake.
The 23-year-old picked up a second yellow card after a reckless challenge and delaying play—fouling Harry Kane before walking off with the ball.
“If anyone is to blame, it’s Camavinga,” Petit concluded.
“That moment killed them—it was catastrophic
