Aspinall Blasts Rival Littler After Fifth Euro Tour Win: “This is for Him to Learn How to Win Without Cheating”
MUNICH – A fiery Nathan Aspinall dedicated his fifth European Tour title to Luke Littler following a dominant 8–5 victory over Danny Noppert in the German Darts Grand Prix final, unleashing a stunning post-match outburst that has rocked the darts world.
The 33-year-old former world champion averaged 100.3 and crashed in seven maximum 180s to seal the trophy, but his on-stage interview quickly turned into an extraordinary tirade aimed at teenage sensation Littler.
“This win is dedicated to Littler – so he learns how to win without CHEATING,” Aspinall said, gripping the winner’s trophy. “I’ve kept quiet for months. But I play fair. I earn every leg. Some of the stuff going on – people turning a blind eye – I’m done pretending.”
Aspinall refused to specify the alleged cheating, but pointed toward Littler’s rapid rise and recent exhibition matches where the 17-year-old has posted remarkable checkouts. “Go back and watch the tapes. You’ll see,” Aspinall added.
The final itself was a high-quality affair. Aspinall broke Noppert’s throw twice in the deciding session, producing a sensational 164 checkout in the 11th leg to swing momentum decisively. Noppert, who averaged 98.7, had no comment on Aspinall’s remarks but shook his opponent’s hand coolly at the oche.
Social media erupted within minutes. Littler has not yet responded publicly, but his management told The Darts Insider: “Luke has never cheated. These are serious allegations made without evidence.”
The PDC has not announced any investigation, though a spokesman confirmed they are “aware of the post-match comments.”
For Aspinall, it was a night of glory overshadowed by grievance. “I don’t care if I get fined,” he said, walking off stage. “Someone had to say it.”
