Guard Landry Shamet has reached an agreement with the New York Knicks, his agent George S. Langberg of GSL Sports Group informed ESPN on Sunday. Shamet had joined the Knicks in September, but following a preseason game in which he dislocated his shoulder, he was dismissed. Before the injury, he was a sure bet to make the regular season roster. Shamet rejoins the team after a full recovery. He averaged almost 11 points per game while playing for the Westchester Knicks, the Knicks’ G League affiliate, throughout the past week.Over his six-year career, Shamet has shot 38.4% from three and averaged 10.8 points in 22 minutes a game. Throughout training camp, New York coach Tom Thibodeau praised the guard on several occasions, emphasizing how well he would mesh with the team. Thibodeau specifically mentioned how much he appreciated Shames past playing time with Cameron Payne and Mikal Bridges, both of whom joined the Knicks this summer.
